Who processes your personal data?
The internally independent Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship of the Flemish Region (hereinafter "Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship", "we", "us", "our"), with its office at Koning Albert II-laan 35, 1030 Brussels, is the administrator of this website and as such is responsible for processing the personal data collected via this website.
Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship is committed to respecting your privacy. This is why most of the information on the website is available without the need to provide personal data.

What personal data do we collect and in what ways?
Personal data is data that can be used to identify you or establish a link with you as a natural person.
In cases where Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship requests your personal data, this data will be treated in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR/AVG), and with the provisions of the federal and Flemish regulations on the protection of natural persons with regard to personal data processing. Such cases include:
- your information request (including making an appointment)
- a service you require (including receiving our newsletter)
When you contact us through the website, we collect your identifier details (i.e. first name, last name, company name, company number, email address, phone number and postcode) and your message. For subscribing to our newsletter, we collect only your email address. Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship gives you the following guarantees in this regard:
- Your personal data is only collected and processed
- in order to provide the information you have requested
- and/or to provide the services you require
- The processing of your personal data is limited to the intended and aforementioned purposes.
- We do not keep your personal data any longer than necessary for the purposes mentioned above.
Do we share your personal data with others?
In some cases, for certain specific services, we rely on third parties (e.g. the network of service providers affiliated with VLAIO (such as Team Bedrijfstrajecten vzw, IT or cloud provider) to process your data. We provide your data to such processors exclusively to enable them to provide the relevant service. Such third parties may also sometimes collect personal data or other information at our instructions, representing us. We monitor and control this data use at all times.
Are your personal data transferred outside the European Union?
In principle, we do not forward your data to countries outside the European Economic Area (European Union and Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein) or international organizations. In an exceptional event where we are necessitated to do so, we will implement all possible measures to ensure that your data is protected as set out in the European, federal and Flemish regulations.
What are your rights?
You always have the right to request us to access, restrict, correct or delete your personal data. You have the right to object to the processing of personal data, to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority, or to request us to transfer this data. The options to exercise these rights apply in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / AVG).

How is your personal data secured?
We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data from loss or unauthorized use.
Confidentiality and secrecy of personal data and other information
We are aware of the potentially sensitive nature of the information that entrepreneurs provide to us in confidence. Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship therefore ensures that all personal data and other information you provide to us is treated with the highest confidentiality, and guarantees its secrecy. We impose strict confidentiality as an absolute obligation on all persons we work with. We do not disclose any information to third parties other than as described above (under "Do we disclose your personal data to others"), either verbally or in writing, unless you issue your prior consent.
Chatbot
We keep track of your data in order to ensure optimal user experience. Every interaction between a user and the chatbot is stored. This helps us train the chatbot, enabling it to become smarter and better. Saving call details also enables live chat. The person helping you can read previous interactions, which enables them to help you faster. VLAIO certainly does not ask to share personal data in the chatbot. This chat can be used to improve natural language processing (NLP) functionalities. We process your questions and information in accordance with our privacy policy.
