Animal Health and Welfare - EUPAHW

What

The European Partnership on Animal Health and Welfare (EUPAHW) is a European Partnership within Horizon Europe, which is the EU's key funding programme for research and innovation. The European Commission as well as private and/or public partners come together to address some of Europe’s most pressing challenges through concerted research and innovation initiatives. EUPAHW focuses on the control of infectious diseases of animals as well as the promotion of animal welfare.

One of the partnership’s key activities is bringing together subsidy agencies to organise yearly project calls. The European Commission provides a top-up to increase the number of funded projects.

Status

VLAIO is participating in the first call of this partnership. The topic of the first call is as follows: ‘Supporting the Future of Animal Health and Welfare’. Three themes which are relevant to animal health and welfare are covered in this call: novel technologies, fundamental research, and the link with society.
