With this project, the Agency for Roads and Traffic (AWV) wants to organize and carry out maintenance tasks on roads and infrastructure. A business model will be developed in which the AWV is relieved of the burden and the contractor assumes responsibility for maintenance in a certain area. Instead of off-the-shelf assignments, the contractors themselves get to work as road managers and are responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness with which the results are achieved. With this approach, AWV can eventually use its personnel capacity in a more targeted way to professionalize its asset management.  

The project is part of the agency's mission and vision to guarantee reliable, sustainable and safe roads and infrastructure in Flanders.
