Sensor Hotels

Challenge

A sensor hotel is a modular system on which a local government or another party can place different sensor boxes. This makes it possible to measure different themes (e.g. air quality and mobility counts) in one and the same place. The measurements can also be a valuable addition to the data that a local government already collects.

The PIO project aims to develop and test a proof-of-concept of the sensor hotel in collaboration with municipalities and cities. The sensor hotel must be accessible, both in terms of costs and use (technical knowledge/requirements).

With this solution, the Domestic Governance Agency and its partners want to strengthen data-driven (or evidence-based) policymaking in Flanders.
