With this project, ILVO aims to build a new experimental accommodation for poultry research. In addition to the usual requirements for this accommodation, they also want to build this stable climate and energy neutral. This last aspect is the focus of the present PIO project.

The climate and energy neutral stable serves as a demo stable for inspiration and example for the poultry sector.

The need is twofold. On the one hand, ILVO, as an entity of the Flemish Government, must reduce its CO2 emissions and energy consumption.

On the other hand, they wish to encourage the poultry sector to do so. The climate-neutral demo stable can meet these objectives.
