NXTMobility Incentives

Challenge

To tackle the (increasing) traffic congestion in and around Antwerp, the city of Antwerp has set up the Slim naar Antwerpen program together with various partners. This program aims at a time, mind and modal shift whereby mobility users (both companies and citizens) are given a nudge (= nudging) towards the most optimal option for them within the wide range of mobility solutions, while retaining as much freedom of choice as possible.

To realize the ambitions of Smart to Antwerp, the City of Antwerp and Digipolis want to set up a platform in the framework of the PIO project NXTMobility Incentives that allows incentives to adjust mobility behavior (of companies and citizens) to be digitized, managed, monitored and processed quickly and efficiently. The incentives are aimed at realizing a time, mind and/or modal shift. Innovations in terms of user profiles, converting regulations to code (machine-readable) and standardization based on Open Standards for Linking Organizations (OSLO) are at the heart of this project.

The intended (open) platform should make incentives that stimulate behavioral change in the field of mobility centrally available to both governments and service providers (mobility and Mobility-as-a-Service/MaaS providers) and thus simplify the management (including allocation), follow-up and validation of the incentives.

NXTMobility Incentives, together with the PIO projects NXTMobility Manager and NXTMobility Werven, is part of the 'NXTMobility' digital architecture that (digitally) underpins the realization of Slim naar Antwerpen. NXTMobility aims to link the various digital mobility systems so that mobility and mobility behavior can be (managed) more efficiently and the various data and services can be shared and integrated with external players.
