At the end of 2019, the Flemish Agency for Persons with Disabilities and Verhaert, together with various stakeholders, started a thorough analysis of the needs for innovation and strengthening of the remote interpreting services. In preparation for an innovative public contract, these needs were presented to developers of telecommunication and software platforms during an open market consultation that took place on Wednesday 27 May 2020 (via online session).

The results of the preparatory analyzes and of the market consultation can be found in the final report of the preliminary phase under 'documents'.

Due to the Corona crisis, the project managers at the Flemish Agency for Persons with Disabilities can currently give little priority to this project, so that (the preparation of) the public contract was postponed to an indefinite date.
