Uitdaging
The AMORAS plant processes and salvages maintenance dredgings from the Port of Antwerp, which are dredged to maintain the port's nautical depth and ensure the accessibility of the port. The largest residual product of the processing of the desanded and dewatered sludge, the filter cakes, are currently landfilled. The annual production of these filter cakes is in the order of 500,000 tonnes. In the context of a circular materials management, the Maritime Access Division (aMT) of the Department of Mobility and Public Works and Port of Antwerp-Bruges (POAB) want to look for useful applications for these filter cakes through this PIO project, and suitable customers of these filter cakes.
