The contract was awarded to Cronos Public Services on May 12, 2021.

The installation of the fixed set-up took place at Park De Bruul in Leuven in early August 2021.

The first movement data were read out and will be further optimized in function of the public moments at the Sport Innovation Congress on October 21 and at the Trefdag Digitaal Vlaanderen on November 26, 2021.

The press release that Sport Vlaanderen sent out together with the City of Leuven and PIO on September 28, 2021, was widely picked up by the written and audiovisual media (including De Standaard, Het Nieuwsblad, Het Laatste Nieuws, RobTV) and led to an online debate about the sense/wrongness of camera applications in the public space and the importance of guaranteeing the privacy of citizens. This was a point of attention for Sport Vlaanderen from the start of this project.

The mobile set-up was installed on the Philips site in mid-November 2021.
