Turing - Automatically control Flemish road lighting with local and current data

Preparation

To bring the challenge into sharper focus and find out what solutions the market could offer for this, we initiated a thorough preliminary process in cooperation with Verhaert New Products and Services.

Verhaert first worked out the needs of AWV and the other stakeholders within the wider ecosystem (including traffic centre, kmi, etc.) in more detail through interviews and workshops.

On 1 March 2019, we organised a market consultation with companies and research groups at home in Data Architecture, Artificial Intelligence and/or Data Science. The turnout was great. During this event, we introduced participants to the needs/challenges of AWV, provided possible conceptual solutions and asked them to assess the technical, financial, etc. feasibility, risks and preconditions of these conceptual solutions. The companies and research groups present were able to publicly present their organisation and proposed (partial) solution during a pitch. They could also demonstrate the added value of their organisation and solutions during a one-to-one interview with AWV staff.

The various presentations, reports and other attachments can be found at the bottom of the page under documents.
