Needs analysis

In order to define the challenge in greater detail, a needs analysis was started in mid-January 2018 in collaboration with Addestino.

Various workshops were organized in which experts and stakeholders brought together their insights into fire safety measures in the healthcare sector. It has been defined which fire safety measures or technologies have priority and this within a framework according to the type of occupant and type of building. In addition, the feasibility (financial / technical / practical) of the measures has also been estimated.

Two priorities explicitly emerged from this preparatory process:

• on the one hand, there is a clear need in the sector for support in training personnel for operational processes (evacuation, etc.) in the event of a fire,
• on the other hand, it turned out that further knowledge about smoke control in healthcare facilities is a priority.
