VIPA has used the results of the fire test program to investigate how the application of the tested techniques or combination of techniques can be translated into an assessment framework for fire safety in healthcare buildings. The final objective is to incorporate such an assessment framework into new fire safety regulations for healthcare buildings. These project phases are not performed within the PIO context but via the Policy Research Centre for Care and Health. Specifically for the innovative residential smoke evacuation system, Fireforum has started to draw up 'Rules of Good Practice' (RGV) to provide practical guidelines for the application of such a system within the sector in the course of 2022, taking into account the interaction with other fire safety measures.
From the preparation phase of the PIO project, it had emerged that there is also a strong need in the sector for support for staff training on evacuation and related issues. This priority was picked up by Zorgnet-Icuro. Together with the tech company OneBonsai, they have developed an evacuation training in virtual reality.
